The Coalition has revised the beta testing schedule for Gears of War: E-Day following criticism from players. Initially, the first weekend of testing was set to feature only the new PvE mode, Horde Siege, with PvP planned to unlock in the second week.
However, after feedback from players who pre-ordered and gained early access, the developers decided to change their approach. Now, the Versus mode with 4v4 matches will be available during the first weekend of the beta, alongside Horde Siege.
Community Response
In an official statement, the team said: “We heard you. We reacted. PvP Versus will be available this weekend as part of the early access to the open beta.”
As a result, participants in the first phase can immediately try both the cooperative PvE mode and the classic online battles. The community reaction appears positive, and the change has helped alleviate dissatisfaction over the limited content available in the early days of testing. The beta is scheduled to run over two weekends, with the open beta following the early access period. The full game is expected to launch in 2025.
